Accessibility
Last reviewed: August 31, 2026
We want founderslaw.com to work for everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or high-contrast settings. This page says where we stand and how to tell us when we have fallen short.
1. The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard most commonly referenced in the United States, and it is the one we hold this site to.
We say "aim" deliberately. Conformance is not something you tick off once. Content changes, browsers change, and assistive technology changes. We would rather tell you what we actually do than claim a perfect score.
2. What we do
- Automated testing. Pages are scanned against the WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules using axe, and the scan is part of how we build the site rather than an annual exercise.
- Contrast. Text and interface colors are measured against the ratios the guidelines require, and we do not use color on its own to carry meaning.
- Keyboard access. Anything you can do with a mouse can be done from a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing you reach on every page.
- Structure. Pages use real headings, landmarks, and labelled form fields, so a screen reader can move through them properly instead of reading everything from the top.
3. Where we know we fall short
Automated testing catches somewhere between a third and a half of real accessibility barriers. It cannot tell us whether a page makes sense read aloud, or whether a form is genuinely easy to complete. Our own judgment fills the rest of that gap, and judgment is fallible.
We also publish articles and attorney biographies through a content system, which means we rely on the people writing them to describe images properly. We check. We will sometimes miss something.
If either of those has affected you, the next section is the fastest route to a fix.
4. Telling us about a problem
Email contact@founderslaw.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line, or call 312.508.3287. It helps if you can tell us:
- The page you were on
- What you were trying to do
- The browser or assistive technology you were using
We will acknowledge your message within five business days and tell you what we intend to do. If something is broken, we will fix it. If a fix will take time, we will say so, and we will get you the information another way in the meantime.
You do not need the technical vocabulary and you do not need to cite a guideline. "I could not get through the contact form with my keyboard" is a perfect report.
5. If the site is not working for you right now
Do not fight with it. Call 312.508.3287 or email contact@founderslaw.com and a person will help you directly with whatever you came here to do, whether that is reaching an attorney, asking about a matter, or getting a document.
6. If our answer is not good enough
Tell us and we will look again.
